Aleksondr Gutsman , 59, of Grand Forks, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in Grand Forks, ND.

Aleksondr was born in the city of Rovno (Rivne), in the country of Ukraine on December 12, 1962, to Andrew and Maria (Kirilchuk) Gutsman. Aleksondr was born with a serious heart problem, although when he reached his 38th year of life, he experienced God's healing power and his heart defect was miraculously cured. His father died when Aleksondr was only 6 months old, and he had no siblings because his mother never remarried. She, being a prophetess, felt led by God to remain single for the rest of her life.

Aleksondr loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar by himself and in groups. He had a strong desire to use his musical gifts for God alone. He was also a powerful witness for Christ as he was growing up in Ukraine and was very involved in his church. He served as a youth pastor for a time and felt a strong call to full time pastoral ministry. He was so openly devoted to his Lord, that he was once arrested by communist soldiers and beaten severely. They did their best to intimidate him into rejecting Christ, but he remained faithful. The marks of those beatings so long ago were still present on his body when he passed away.

Eventually, Aleksondr and his mother immigrated to America and lived first in Pennsylvania. This is where he met the love of his life, Ellona Nikolaenko, who would become his wife. At first, they attended different churches, but God miraculously gave a vision to Ellona urging her to help a man who was a deacon in another church. That man was Aleksondr Gutsman. They were united in holy matrimony and God gave them six wonderful children; Samuel, Andrew, Timethy, Michael, Esther and Sarah.

Even though his family and friends are mourning his passing, they are rejoicing even more that he is healed and fully restored in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Blessed be the life and memory of Aleksondr Gutsman.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Valley Christian Church, 3920 Cherry Street Grand Forks, ND 58201.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the church on Tuesday.
Burial: In the spring at Montefiore Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
