Alexzandro "Al" Perez, 54, of Thompson, ND passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his home in Thompson.

Alexzandro Perez was born September 24, 1966 in Temple, TX the son of Jose and Helena (Salinas) Perez.  He was raised in Killeen, TX until moving with his family to Grand Forks, ND.  Al was a very caring and generous person.  He had such a green thumb that he could make anything grow.  He would take his mama shopping for flowers, antiques and thrifting.  There wasn't a person he wouldn't help and never asked for anything in return.

He loved road trips to Florida, especially Key West.  His nightly trips into Grand Forks with his mama and Chris, listing to oldies music, was always an adventure.  Stopping at Walmart and the Pizza Ranch was a nightly visit.  There were countless nights he, his mother and Chris would go to the movies and enjoy popcorn and pickles.  He loved driving his little Red Cascada.

His love for music was as deep as his love for his family. He had a tremendous love for animals and he would take in strays and keep them until he could find homes for them.  If he couldn't find them a home, he would keep them.  Al will be forever missed by all who knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Helena; his partner, Wayne "Chris" Olson, both of Thompson, ND; his twin brothers, Rual "Rudy" (Rosie) Perez and Joe Perez, both of Blaine, MN, Martin Perez and Noe (Sherry) Perez, both of Grand Forks, ND, Armando Perez, Thompson, ND; a sister, Mary (Jim) Krese, Grand Forks, ND; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Perez; a brother, Daniel Perez and a sister-in-law, Brenda Red Tomahawk.

Memorial Mass :  2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting :  One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Saturday.
