Anna H. Griggs, 94, of Thompson, ND passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Anna H. Opyt was born on April 12, 1931, in Thompson, ND, the daughter of John and Mary (Bonik) Opyt.  She was raised and educated in Thompson.  Anna married Lloyd "Jim" Griggs on October 30, 1948, in St. Judes Catholic Church in Thompson.  She was a lifelong member of St. Jude's Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society and taught CCD Classes.  Anna was a homemaker and cared for her family.  She worked many seasons during the potato harvest for Weber Farms.  She had many stories and fond memories of her times in the potato fields.

She was an avid reader and was always up for a trip to Walmart or stopping at a good garage sale.  She spent many hours caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating many treasured memories for them.  She was loving called "GG" by her great-grandchildren.  You could always count on a good bowl of chicken soup and root beer floats.  These were always a favorite.  She will be missed immensely by her family, and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Melanie) Griggs, Williston, ND, Kim (Tim) Weber, Thompson, ND, Kent Griggs, Grand Forks, ND, Richard (Tammy) Griggs, Milnor, ND and Kerry (Tricia) Griggs, Tolna, ND; grandchildren, Brooks (Andrea) Griggs and their daughters, Tillie and Cori, Tim (Andrea) Kvasager and their daughters, Claire, Marly, Chloe, and Kathryn, Todd Kvasager and his children, Addie, Rilynn and Aiden, Tori (Aaron Schultz) Kvasager and daughter, Mackenzie, Ryan Weber, Halee Weber and son, Caysen, Denum Griggs and children, Kinzie, Liberty, Noah, Elaina Joy,  Lacie Maisey and children, Victor, Lucious and Izabella, Kaylee (Austin) Jackson, and son ,Dylan, Brittany Sheer, Riley Sheer,  and Tessa Griggs,; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Lloyd J. Griggs, Jr., a daughter, RoxAnn Kvasager, son-in-law, Jerry Kvasager, a sister, Sophie Griggs, brothers-in-law, Frank Griggs, Jr. and Kenneth Nelson and a sister-in-law, Effie Nelson.

As a family, we would like to thank all our mother's caregivers, Sandy R-NDHC, Altru 3rd floor nurses and HAI Hospice for their compassionate care given to her.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, in St. Jude's Catholic Church, Thompson, ND.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, in St. Jude's Catholic Church, with a 10:00 a.m. Recitation of the Rosary.
Interment: In the spring of 2026, in St. Jude's Catholic Cemetery, Thompson,
