Anthony "Tony" Glimsdahl , 75, of Grand Forks, ND passed away of cancer on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the North Dakota Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Anthony Elmer Glimsdahl was born April 27, 1945 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Elmer and Elizabeth (Schwengler) Glimsdahl.  He was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from St. James Catholic High School in 1963.  Anthony enlisted in the United States Navy on December 30, 1964 and during the Vietnam Era, served as an electronics clerk aboard the USS Coral Sea.  He was honorably discharged from active military service on December 14, 1968.

He returned to Grand Forks and attended the University of North Dakota.  He was employed with the United States Civil Service at the Grand Forks Air Force Base until his retirement.  Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the guitar.

He is survived by his siblings, Jon Glimsdahl, Barbara (Gary) Ricord, Thomas (Kay) Glimsdahl, Michael (Brenda) Glimsdahl, all of Grand Forks, ND and Paul Glimsdahl, Bismarck, ND; many nieces, nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Salvation Army of Grand Forks or the Grand Forks Senior Center.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks and social distancing are required during the family greeting and service.

Memorial Liturgy 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Thursday.
Military Honors :  Accorded by members of the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817 and the United States Navy Reserve.
