Benjamin "Benny" Irvine , 24, of Grand Forks, ND passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2021 in Grand Forks.

Benjamin Michael Irvine was born on March 14, 1996 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Joseph and Tammy (Butler) Irvine.  He was raised in Grand Forks and in 2014 graduated from Red River High School.  During high school, he was a talented performer.  He played the trombone and lettered in the high school band and performed in SPA.  He went on to attend, for a short time, the University of North Dakota.  He was employed with Hu Hot Restaurant, Applebee's Restaurant and Oxford Reality.  Presently, he was employed as a security officer with GS4 USA.  Benny was active in doing technical work and performing with the Grand Forks Firehall Theater.  He was a talented musician and amazing singer. He played a variety of instruments, including the guitar, and was self-taught on the piano.  Benny loved being with his friends and being around people. He was a kind, sensitive and tender person.  He always put smiles on people's faces and had a kind word of encouragement for everyone.

He is survived by his mother, Tammy Irvine, Grand Forks, ND; his father, Joseph Irvine, Las Vegas, NV; his brothers, Brock Irvine, Valley City, ND and Bryce Irvine, Fort Benning, GA; stepmother, Shannon Irvine; half-brother, Zachary Irvine; half-sister, Cassidy Irvine, all of Las Vegas, NV; grandmother, Eileen Bertleson, Grand Forks, ND; grandparents, Robert and Beverly Irvine, Texas; uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John "Butch" Butler; his grandmother, Marjane Butler; his grandfather, Oliver "Butch" Bertleson and an uncle, Darrin Bertleson.

A Private Funeral Service: Will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home.
Public Visitation :  5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Historic Norman Funeral Home.  Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks and social distancing will be required at the public visitation.
Interment: In the spring at Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
