Beverly Marie Cariveau, 90, of East Grand Forks, MN, passed away Friday, May 29th, 2026, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Grand Forks, ND.

Beverly Marie Gregoire was born on January 31st, 1936, the oldest daughter of Mose and Lillian (Lane) Gregoire. She grew up on the family farm near Merrifield and attended Ellendale 61 Grade School. Mom lost her dad at an early age and had to leave school to help raise her younger siblings. She returned to school years later, going to class at night and getting her GED. She went on later to take courses at the University of North Dakota. In 1953 Mom began writing letters to Stephen Cariveau, who would later become her husband and our father. Dad was enlisted in the Army during the Korean War at this time. They fell in love and were married on June 11th, 1958, at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Thompson, ND. Mom and Dad began their lives together in rural East Grand Forks, MN. Mom stayed at home raising us until our youngest brother started Head Start. She worked as a Teachers Aide for a few years for the Head Start Program. She then went on to work at the University of North Dakota for 25+ years before she retired. During those years Mom acquired her Realtors License and became increasingly interested in Genealogy taking Continuing Education courses and working on our family tree. Mom was a wife, mother and homemaker above all else. She was a devote Catholic, never wavering in her belief of eternal life. Mom attended Sacred Heart Church, rarely missing a Sunday Mass. She was a wonderful cook and housekeeper.  3 meals on the table every day.  Then years of canning, freezing food, butchering and gardening. Mom loved getting her hair done on Saturdays and loved her cats. She loved picnics and she made a darn good potato salad. Mom was reliable and loving but most of all she had the "patience" of a Saint. She was part of our foundation, and she lived a life that deserves to be remembered. Rest in peace Mom with Dad now. We'll miss you. We love you both, forever.

Beverly is survived by her children, Cynthia Rice, Susan (Jaimy) Pearson, Daniel (Diane) Cariveau of Grand Forks, ND, Debra (Randal) Parent of Greybull, WY, Peter Cariveau, Michelle Cariveau, Stephen Cariveau of East Grand Forks, MN; siblings , Theresa Button of Riverbank, CA; brother-in-law, James (Marlene) Cariveau of East Grand Forks, MN; sister-in-law, Patricia (Larry) Gregoire of Georgetown, TX; 18 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stephen; brothers, Larry Gregoire, Dale Gregoire; sisters, Yvonne Tack and Anita Grassel; son-in-law, Arthur Rice and daughter-in-law, Pam Cariveau and her special and beloved uncle, Myron Lane.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN.  A lunch will be served in the church following Mass.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
