Beverly (Swingen) Price , 89, of Burnsville, MN and formerly of Grand Forks, ND, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at her Havenwood home.

Beverly was born on December 27, 1932, in Minot, ND. She was adopted by a loving family as an only child to William and Bertha "Betty" Doescher of Drake, ND.  At a very young age, Bev developed a love for music, dance and piano. Sharing her many talents and interests with her family and friends brought great joy throughout her life.

Bev grew up in Drake and chose to further her education at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She was active in her Tri Delta Sorority and met the love of her life, Lowell "Jim" Swingen. After competing in the Miss North Dakota pageant, that night Jim proposed to Bev on the steps of the North Dakota State Capitol Building. They were married February 27, 1954 and spent 45 wonderful years together.  While raising four children in Grand Forks, they enjoyed spending summers at their lake cabin on Grant Lake in Wilton, MN. Great memories were also made with friends and family snow skiing at their winter home in Big Sky, MT.

Bev was a devoted Catholic and participated in many activities at St. Michael's Catholic Church where her four children attended St. Michael's Elementary School in Grand Forks.

Retiring with Jim in Fountain Hills, AZ, provided time together in honing their artistic talents. Many homes of friends and family display their fine stain glass work today.

After Jim's passing on September 29, 1999, she met a wonderful gentleman, George "Ed" Price. They married October 6, 2000, and spent 13 wonderful years in Fountain Hills, AZ, until his passing on September 5, 2013.

May 2015 Bev determined it was time to move closer to family and moved to Wenatchee, WA. Bev loved living on the Columbia River and enjoyed 5 amazing years in orchard and wine country in the Pacific Northwest. In 2020, Bev chose to move closer to her extended family the last two years of her remarkable full life.   Bev was an incredibly amazing and spirited person who loved her family deeply. She will be missed by family and the many friends she has touched during her life.

She is survived by her children, Kim (Greg) Lindgren of Wenatchee, WA, Jim (Randy) Swingen of Grand Forks, ND, Kathy (Blaine) Peterson of Burnsville, MN; her 7 grandchildren, Nathan (Tara) Swingen, Cory Swingen, Katherine Channell, Heather (Dayton) Nyhus, Andrew Peterson, Alex (Jill) Swingen, Kellie Swingen; her 9 great-grandchildren.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Doescher; her husband, Lowell "Jim" Swingen, and her husband, George "Ed" Price; her son, Walter W. Swingen and her grandson, Christopher Swingen.

Memorial Liturgy: 12:00 pm Thursday, September 8, 2022, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting : One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Thursday.
Interment: Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.

Following the interment, a luncheon will be served in the Community Room of the Normal Funeral Home.
