Bobbie J. Hunt, 75, of Grand Forks, ND and formerly of Memphis, TN passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at his home in Grand Forks.

Bobbie James Hunt was born on September 29, 1949, in Memphis, TN, the son of Charles and Dee Dove (Luckett) Hunt.  He was raised in Memphis where he graduated from high school.  Bobbie went on to graduate from Tennessee State University with a bachelor's degree in Music. Following his graduation, he traveled throughout the United States and internationally as a professional musician playing the drums for the Bar Kays and Cadillac Records.

Bobbie moved to Grand Forks in 2002 and was employed with J. R. Simplot and later with L M Wind Power.  He enjoyed playing Bingo, playing drums at open mics and watching movies at home.  Most of all, he enjoyed being with his many friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Rolanda Pierson, Cordova, TN; a brother, Charles Hunt, Memphis, TN; his good friends, Tony Siddle, Grand Forks, ND, and Lucretia Johnston, Emerado, ND; many nieces and nephews and whole lot of friends.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2025, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the Memorial Service in the funeral home on Thursday.
Celebration of Life and Reception: 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at McMenamy's Tavern, 1602 Mill Road Grand Forks, ND 58203.
