Charles "Charlie" Ferguson, 68, of Grand Forks, ND passed away at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks on Tuesday, August 4, 2020.

Charles Eugene Ferguson was born on September 24, 1951 in Lexington, VA the son of Lewis and Ethel (Bryant) Ferguson. Charlie married Margaret Nardick in January of 1970. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 13 years with the 836 Transportation Squadron (TAC). He was honorably discharged from military service with the rank of Technical Sergeant in 1984. For a short period of time was employed with civil service. Charlie started driving truck cross country in 1987. Due to illness, he retired from trucking in 2015. However, after retirement, he drove truck for Hovde Trucking. He loved trucking, country music and car racing.

He survived by the love of his life, best friend and partner for 28 years, Kristy Porter; his sons, Charles (Sheri) Ferguson, Jr. of Richmond, VA and Kevin Ferguson of Grand Forks, ND; his stepchildren, Jodi (GW) Yandle, Valley View, TX and Jeremiah (Chelsea Weiland) Porter of Euclid, MN; grandchildren, Lily, Jamie, Makayla, Zachery and Prazayas; step-grandchildren, Jesse, John (Alexis), Kristen, Hattie, Adelia and Aidan; great-grandchildren, Saul, Lilah and Eden; a brother, William Ferguson, Vista, CA; sisters, Anna Nardick, Martinsburg, WV and Betty Ferguson, Roanoke, VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and James and sister-n-law, Laraiine (Mrs. William) Ferguson.

Charlie wanted to donate his body to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine but due to COVID-19 concerns was unable to fulfill his wish.
