Christopher "Chris" Moen, 70, of Gilby, ND passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.

Christopher Brian Moen was born on May 29, 1949 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Clifford B. and Rose Marie (Fillion) Moen. He was raised in Gilby. In 1980, he purchased the Gilby Bar from his father who had operated it for 30 plus years. On May 31, 1968, Chris married Katherine Andrea Weaver at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Larimore ND. Together, they raised three amazing daughters.

Chris was a Union Sheet Metal worker, which took him to many cities across the United States. He also taught welding to the sheet metal apprentices. Eventually, he purchased interest in his own sheet metal shop. Chris retired in 2009, at which time he became his own boss at Cliff's Lounge in Gilby. He was a member of the Malta Lodge #131, Scottish Rite Bodies and a Kem Temple Shriners; assigned to the Mobile Nobles Unit and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Kelly (Troy) Moen-SnoBeck, Danette (Joe) Silman and Nicole (Chris) Burlingame; grandchildren, Katy and Kyle SnoBeck, Abby and Chris Silman and Chloe Burlingame; his sisters, Linda (Bryan) Bundy and Mavis (Tom Tarzinski) Moen; a brother, Cliff (Carol) Moen and his canine companion, Rudy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
