Colter John Anderson , age 34, of Port Canaveral, FL formerly Grand Forks, ND, died unexpectedly of an unknown cause, on Thursday, August 17, 2023 in Port Canaveral, FL.

Colter John Anderson, was born on May 14, 1989 in Grand Forks, ND to Tim and Tammy (Schwanz) Anderson. He was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School and the University of North Dakota. While at Grand Forks Central, Colter lettered in hockey, golf, track, and helped take his soccer team to the state finals. After completing his education, Colter lived in Tucson, AZ and Lake Tahoe, NV; eventually landing in Cocoa Beach, FL. He spent the majority of his career in various roles in the hospitality industry. He enjoyed living life to the fullest by surfing, biking, golfing, playing hockey and anything that involved being outside, put him in his happy place.

Colter was an avid dog lover. There was hardly a time when a dog was not a part of his life. He loved riding his bike, sometimes up to 90 miles a day.

Colter is survived by his parents, Tim and Tammy (Schwanz) Anderson in Grand Forks, ND; a brother Bennett (Emily) Anderson, and nephews; Liam and Theodore of, Mendota Heights, MN. He is also survived by his close aunts and uncles, Jodi (Todd) Mishler, Tim (Pam) Schwanz, Cheri (Gary) Rogalla of Grand Forks, ND; Chuck (Candy) Anderson, Fort Myers, FL; and Dick Anderson, Pensacola, FL. Colter has a great tight knit group of cousins, whom he loved and was very close to. He is also survived by his numerous Florida family and friends, especially his best buds Josh and Aaron.

Colter was preceded in death by his grandparents; Willard and Betty Schwanz, and Harold (Andy) and Betty Anderson, both of Grand Forks and a cousin Kyle Schwanz of Fargo, ND.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life :  4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home on Thursday.

Following the Service: A reception and luncheon will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 227 10th Street NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721
