Cynthia "Cindy " Ferguson, 62, of Cedar Rapids, IA and formerly of Grand Forks, ND passed away at her home in Cedar Rapids on Monday, February 17, 2025.

Cynthia Ann Narlock was born on October 9, 1962, the daughter of Francis and Esther (Osowski) Narlock and grew up as the youngest of seven children in rural Walsh County, ND.  Cindy was well known for her love of all genres of music and dance.  As a toddler she would rock back and forth in her chair, no doubt listening to a tune she imagined in her head. As a student in grade school she knew every word of the popular songs on the radio. Her parents wished she could memorize her math that well. In middle school and high school she participated in various sports, band, and cheerleading then went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota, Crookston with an accounting degree. As for her passion for dancing, no uncle was ever spared at wedding dances!

Cindy lived in Forest River, ND and was employed with Forest River Bean Co. Later she moved to Grand Forks, ND and then to Cedar Rapids, IA to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. Cindy's greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Amy. Cindy attended all of Amy's activities including sports, dance, plays, and more. She was an avid supporter of Amy's friends as well. Cindy was a caregiver to her parents for many years before they passed. Caregiving came naturally to her, whether it was for her parents, friends, neighbors, or grandchildren. People were drawn to Cindy's endless energy, pep, and mischievous smile. She brought so much joy and laughter to others, even if the laughter was at her own expense. We will always remember her generosity and loving demeanor.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy (Matthew) Kruse, two grandchildren, Everett and Annabelle Kruse; sisters, Merrie (Dennis) Dunlop of Fargo, ND and Annette (Lee) Stewart of Grapevine, TX; brothers, Robert (Betty) Narlock of West Fargo, ND and James (Nancy) Narlock of Grand Forks, ND; brother-in-law Roger Olufson of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces and nephews.  Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Janet Narlock and Judy Olufson; brother-in-law Ronnie Riske; and nephews, Scott Narlock and Carl Riske.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hazelden Betty Ford organization.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Norman Funeral Home.

Vigil Service: 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Norman Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial: 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025 in St. John's Cemetery, Ardoch, ND.
