DALE M. FONTAINE

Dale M. Fontaine , age 75, of Grand Forks, ND died on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Dale M. Fontaine, a son of Delmore and Irene (Kiedrowski) Fontaine, was born on October 14, 1947 in Grand Forks,ND. He was raised and educated in Grand Forks, graduating from St. James High School in 1966. After high school, he continued his education in Wahpeton, ND, later attending Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks. On May 4, 1968, he was married to Elizabeth Flom at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN. Dale began working at Armors Meat Packing in Grand Forks until it closed. Dale worked various other jobs for a time including Grand Forks Grocery, then began working for Longview Fibre in Grand Forks until he retired in 2013. He has continued to make Grand Forks his home.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Dale loved to tend to his garden, canning the fruits of his labor in the fall each year. He was a avid Sioux fan, attending football and hockey games on a regular basis.

He is survived by his wife, Liz Fontaine; daughter's, Kelly Fontaine and Kristi (Scott Martin) Reesing; grandchildren, Brett Fontaine and Emily Reesing; a great-granddaughter, Gabbi; a brother, Dave Fontaine; sisters, Linda McDaris (Jerry) and Tammy Miller (Duane); his Mother-in-law, Helen Flom and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Guy Flom and a son-in-law, Rhett Reesing.

Memorial Mass: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.
Interment: Garden of the Evangelist's Columbarium, Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
