David A. Griggs , 63, of Grand Forks, ND passed away, after a brief battle with cancer, Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

David Alan Griggs was born on August 13, 1959, in Grand Forks, ND the son of Lewis and Patricia (Beilmeyer) Griggs.    He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1977 and AVTI in 1979.  He was employed with Uglem-Ness in Northwood, ND and Simplot in Grand Forks, ND.  He was employed with Henningsen Cold Storage, until his retirement in 2022.  David enjoyed reading, NASCAR racing and spending time with his many friends at Denny's Tavern.

He is survived by a sister, LuAnn (Steve) Martin, Denver, CO; brothers, Michael Griggs, Buxton, ND, Scott Griggs, Grand Forks, ND and Robert Griggs, Grand Forks, ND; aunts, Patricia Griggs, Maxine Erickstad and Ellen Griggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Liturgy: 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2022, in the Historic Norman Funeral Chapel.

Family Greeting: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Thursday.

Interment: At a later date, in Calvary Cemetery, Reynolds, ND.
