Debra K, Jacobson , 67, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at her home in Grand Forks.

Debra Kay Sorteberg was born on October 28, 1953, in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Vernon and Norma (Haaby) Sorteberg.  She lived in Gilby, ND until moving with her family to Grand Forks where she graduated from high school.  Debra went on to graduate from Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks and Moler Barber College in Fargo, ND.  While living in Grand Forks, she was employed as a bartender and owned and operated the Longhorn Barber Shop.

Debra married Gary L. Jacobson on November 8, 2003.  She was an excellent cook and was known for her homemade cookies and burritos. She enjoyed bowling leagues, pool leagues and playing Bingo.  Gary preceded her in death on January 7, 2011. Debra would make homemade TV dinners for her good friend Everette Blaisdell to take home when he would come to visit.

She is survived by her son, Ted (Cindy Ross) Kittelson; a daughter, Jolene (Jerry Dauphinais) Briviesca, both of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Terris "Jr." Oberle, Cory Oberle, Robert Kittelson, Julianna Kittelson, Olivia Kittelson, Enrique Briviesca, Reynaldo Briviesca and Matias Briviesca; sisters, Julie (Carl) Warren, Grand Forks, ND and Roxanne (Fred) Stephens, Sugarland, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary; an infant daughter, Sheila Kittelson; her brothers, David Sorteberg and Arnie Sorteberg.

Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Tuesday.
