Delores Caroline Klitz, 83, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully at home Thursday, January 2, 2020.

Delores Klitz was born on April 26, 1936, in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of James Torgerson and Etta (Spicer) Fladeland. She grew up and attended school in Grand Forks.

On February 20, 1954, Delores married the love of her life, James Klitz Sr. at First Lutheran Church in Fargo ND. They made their home in St. Paul, MN. In 1957, they moved to Bismarck, ND and in 1968 moved to Grand Forks, ND and settled in their home on Chestnut St. Delores worked over 25 years at Simplot, retiring in 1998.

Delores loved being surrounded by her large family and family time was cherished by her. Her first love in her life was her husband, Jimmy and her second love was chocolate. She had quite the sweet tooth. She was known lovingly only as "Klitz" to her husband and he welcomed her home with "Klitz, I have been waiting for you."

Delores is survived by her son, James (Jody) Klitz Jr, Grand Forks, ND and daughters, Jeanne (Gary) Schindler, Albert Lea, MN, Julie (Bradley) Olson, Grand Forks, ND, Jackie (Spencer) Koesterman, Mekinock, ND, and Jill (John) Dunigan, Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Kelli, Daniel, Patrick, Erin, Kristie, Mathew, Andrew, Mike, Katie, Josh, Lindsey, Marcus, Morgan, Karlie, Bailee, and John Jr.; great-grandchildren, Landan, Jackson, Sawyer, Cameron, Asher, August, Klaus, Amara, Ezra, Tatum, Bentley, Oliva, Neveah, Maziah, Gracie, Logan, and Nolan and all the kids (too many to mention) that came to know her as "grandma" over the years, "you know who you all are".

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, James Klitz Sr.; a brother, Morris Torgerson; son-in-law, Kevin L Grass and a grandson, Chad Allen Grass

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Tuesday.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
