Dorothy M. Narlock , age 93, of Grand Forks, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, at Altru Health Systems, in Grand Forks.

Dorothy Marie Houdek was born February 10, 1926 in Prairie Centre Township of Walsh County, ND, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Schanilec) Houdek. She attended school in Veseleyville, ND. Following her education, Dorothy married Richard E. Narlock of Oslo, Minn., on October 17, 1950. Richard and Dorothy farmed in Walsh County until Richard's retirement in 1988. Dorothy and Richard moved to Grand Forks in 2009.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; whose spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She nurtured her family, loved to cook, sew, gardened vegetables and flowers and was known for her baked kolaches. Dorothy loved to pray on a daily basis, especially the Rosary. She served on the Altar Societies of St. Mark's Catholic Church in Conway, and St. Luke's Catholic Church, in Veseleyville.

She is survived by sons, Tom Narlock and Roger Narlock, both of Grand Forks, and daughters, Nancy (Robert) Schlomann, Fargo, ND, Doreen Parkes, St. Michael, MN, Merita (Randy) Moen, Mound, MN, and four grandchildren, Amy (Matthew) Hill, Kyle Schlomann, Drew Moen, and Trevor Parkes, and great granddaughter, Evelyn Hill, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and infant daughter, Janice Catherine, her parents and her brothers, Verner, Raymond, Silvin and Daniel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 3, at 2:30 PM, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Grand Forks. The rosary will be recited at the church on Friday at 1:00, and visitation will from 1:30 until the time of the service.
Burial will be at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery, Conway, ND in spring.
