Effie L. Vick , 90, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, December 22, 2023, at her home in Grand Forks.

Effie Lucille Mager was born on December 20, 1933, in Warsaw, ND the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Pokrkrzywinski) Mager.

Effie married Robert Stevens in December of 1951. Together, they had three children, Sandra, Pam, and Diane. Robert preceded her in death in 1954.  Effie married Harris Vick in August of 1960. Together, they had three children, Karen, Laurie, and Susan. He preceded her in death in 1986.  Effie's long-time companion was Warren Kirkeby.  Warren preceded her in death in 2002.

Effie was employed with the East Grand Forks American Legion until her retirement. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, cruises, puzzles, and she loved playing Farkle. She loved country western music and old western movies.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Stevens, Santa Rosa, CA, Pam (Ron) Stevens-O'Connell, Grand Forks, ND, Diane Stevens, Santa Rosa, CA, Karen Turley, Berryville, AR, Laurie (Bob) Lee, Holiday Island, AR, and Susan Vick, Grand Forks, ND; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers and sisters, a granddaughter, Amber Kraft, as well as her husbands, Robert, and Harris as well as her long-time companion, Warren.

Funeral Liturgy: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Saturday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
