Elizabeth "Betty" Bussmann, 97, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Friday, August 23, 2019 in Northwood Deaconess Health Care Center in Northwood, ND.

Elizabeth Steinwand was born September 20, 1921 in Garrison, ND the daughter of Jacob and Regina (Weber) Steinwand. She grew up in a family of 14. Elizabeth married Ralph F. Bussmann on October 11, 1941 in Max, ND. They moved to Underwood, ND and farmed for 20 years. In 1962, they moved to Washburn, ND and Ralph was employed with the County Highway Department. Following Ralph's death in 1976, Elizabeth moved to Grand Forks to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Walt Mitchell. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed gardening and bowling.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Mrs. Walt) Mitchell, Grand Forks, ND; a sister, Mona (Mrs. Hank) Reinisch, Garrison, ND; 2 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and her siblings.

Prayer Service: 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 26 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, Washburn, ND.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the church on Tuesday.
Burial: Underwood Cemetery, Underwood, ND.
