Frances Fetter , 100, died peacefully Tuesday, December 17th, 2019, at Valley Senior Living on 42nd, Woodside Village, in Grand Forks.

Frances Katherine Schultz was born on March 24th, 1919, in Reynolds, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Katherine (Bielefeld) Schultz. Frances married Stephen N. Fetter on November 6, 1941. Frances and Steve farmed for 37 years outside of Reynolds and raised a loving family of 9 children. She helped Steve with farming chores until their five sons took over. She was an avid gardener who grew enough to feed her large family, and seamstress, making clothes for her children. She still found time to join the OTO Homemakers Club, and act as a 4H leader. They retired in 1978 and built a home in Reynolds. In retirement, they traveled to every state, and enjoyed trips to Europe and Australia. She renewed her interest in sewing and became well known for the many beautiful quilts that she made for family, friends, and strangers. Many were displayed at various craft shows, and were featured in an article in the Hillsboro Banner.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Steve, and by her siblings: Alvis, Tillie, Lawrence, Elizabeth, Leo, and Helen.

She is survived by all 9 children: Ralph (Bonnie) Fetter of Brooklyn Park, MN, Leon Fetter of St. Paul, MN, Marlane (George) Sanderson of Moorhead, MN, Benita (Tom) Bina of Hugo, MN, Rod (Mary) Fetter of Alexandria, MN, Bev Fetter of Grand Forks, ND, Les (Ida) Fetter of Walton, OR, Rob (Dianna) Fetter of Aurora, CO, and Linda (Sheldon) Focht of Franktown, CO; 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She had an unfailing positive attitude and used every opportunity to share with anyone, and everyone, how blessed she was.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be sent to Valley Senior Living on 42nd, Woodside Village, 4004 24th Ave. S. for the exceptional care and love they provided.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Reynolds, ND.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service and 7:00 p.m. vigil service in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Saturday.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Reynolds, ND, in the spring.
