Gerald "Jerry" Cox , 71, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at his home in Grand Forks.

Gerald Parker Cox was born on November 7, 1950, in Grand Forks, ND the son of Charles and Ernestine (Lohse) Cox.  He was a lifetime resident of Grand Forks and was a member of the first class to graduate from Red River High School, in 1969.  He went on to graduate from Aaker's Business College and later the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.

Jerry was employed with various convenience stores in Grand Forks and retired from Valley Dairy.  During his retirement, he drove school bus for special needs children.  He loved the kids and his co-workers.  Jerry married Paula Storey on June 27, 1997, in University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.

He played drums with several bands, including Melvin D. Burlap, Clockwork and Deliverance.  Also, he enjoyed traveling, spending time on his patio with his two cats, Oscar and Charlie and watching Ru Paul's Drag Race with his wife and daughter. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a longtime and active member of University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks.

He survived by his wife, Paula; his daughters, Rachel Cox, Savannah, GA; Emily Cox, Albuquerque, NM and Sarah Lowe, Fargo, ND; a son, Jerry (Cindy Johnson) Lowe, East Grand Forks, MN; a brother, Brian (Bonnie) Cox, Quincy, IL; a granddaughter, Ava Lowe and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Aurora Lee and a niece, Kim Albert.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, in University Lutheran Church, 2122 University Avenue Grand Forks, ND 58203.
