Gerald T. Ferencik, 72, of Grand Forks/Fargo, ND passed away Sunday September 15, 2019 in Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Gerald Thomas Ferencik was born July 23, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Thomas Ferencik and Louella Noreen. He attended elementary school in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated from East Grand Forks High School. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1965 until 1969 and worked as a Water Transportation Specialist. During his time in the U.S. Navy, Gerald also served a tour of duty in Vietnam. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Strata Corporation for 38 years. Gerald met his wife, Patricia Murry in December 1969 and they married on March 22, 1979. In 2013, Gerald moved to Fargo, ND with his two children.

Gerald is survived by a daughter, Jessica Ferencik, Fargo, ND; a son, Jeremy Ferencik, Fargo, ND; his brothers, David Ferencik (Dorothy), Auburn, CA, Donald Ferencik, Stillwater, MN, Wayne Ferencik (Dorothy), Tucson, AZ, Charles Ferencik (Lynda), Port Orchard, WA; his sisters, Bonnie Thompson, Deer Lodge, MT, Karen Nelson, Whidbey Island, WA; 2 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and his parents, Thomas and Louella.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life: 7:00 p.m. Friday September, 20, 2019 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel, Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting : One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Friday.
Internment: At a later date.
Military Honors: Accorded by members of the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817 and the United States Navy Reserve.
