Gerald "Jerry" Finan, 86, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks.

Gerald Paul Finan was born on February 24, 1938, in Dushore, PA, the son of Gerald, Sr. and Viola (Johnston) Finan.  He was raised in the Dushore area and graduated from St. Basil's High School.  Following graduation, Jerry Enlisted in the Unites States Air Force on January 15, 1957, at Wilkes Barre, PA.    He served in Alaska until his transfer to the Grand Forks Air Force Base.  He was honorably discharged from active military service on January 14, 1961.  Jerry continued to live in Garnd Forks and was employed as an electrician with GM Electric and became a Master Electrician.  He went on to own and operate Finan Electric in Grand Forks.  Later, Jerry was employed as an electrician with Viking Electric in Grand Forks, until his retirement.  Jerry married Mary Klinger on August 3, 1963, in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks and they raised four children.

Jerry was skilled at refinishing furniture and had a passion for collecting antiques.  He loved animals and, over the years, took in many stray cats.  He always kept dog biscuits in his pockets for the neighborhood dogs.

Jerry is survived by his former wife, Mary Finan of Grand Forks, ND; his sons, Anthony Finan and Daniel Finan of Grand Forks, ND; his daughters, Valerie (Corey) Amundson of Floyds Knobs, IN and Victoria (Tudor Ellis) Finan and their dog, Tug, whom Jerry loved very much, of Felixstowe, United Kingdom; grandchildren, Jordan Acker of Phoenix, AZ, Elizabeth Amundson of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Anthony Amundson of Floyds Knobs, IN; one brother; four sisters; several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one niece and one nephew.

Memorial Liturgy: 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in the Historic Norman Funeral Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Tuesday.
Military Honors: Accorded by members of the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817 and the Grand Forks Air Force Base Honor Guard.
