Geraldine "Gerry" Whitebird , 85, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Valley Senior Living on Columbia in Grand Forks.

Geraldine M. Rogalla was born on November 7, 1937 in Oslo, MN the daughter of Izidor and Florence (Popowski) Rogalla.  She moved with her family to Grand Forks and was a lifelong resident of the city.  Geraldine was employed with The Golden Hour Restaurant, Darcy's Café, Whitey's Café, and the Blue Moose Restaurant.  She was a longtime and active member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grand Forks.  She enjoyed nature, taking walks, and playing cards with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Steve (Barbara) Rogalla, Mandan, ND, Mike (Charlotte) Rogalla, Little Rock, AR, Kermit White, Plymouth, MN, Stan (Kelly) Whitebird, White Bear Lake, MN, Terry (Susan) Whitebird, Buckley, IL and John (Pat) Anderson, Minneapolis, MN; daughters, Mary (Bill) Anderson, Apple Valley, MN, Shelly (Dan) Wasylow, Arvilla, ND, and Judy (Mrs. Les) Krogfrost, Appleton, WI; a brother, Justin Rogalla, Sulphur, OK; grandchildren, Jason Rogalla, Amy Rogalla, Melissa Rogalla, Krista Ramsey, Lindsey Rogalla, Alexis Frane, Connor McCarty, Abram Whitebird, Greta Whitebird,  Gina Whitebird, and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alvin Rogalla; sisters, Edith Loyland, Theresa Rogalla and Carol Johnson.

Mass of Christian Burial :  11:00 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2023, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Monday.
Committal Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in Calvary North Cemetery
