Gloria I. Carter, 86, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at her home in Grand Forks, surrounded by her family.

Gloria Ione Lund was born on December 16, 1939, in Grand Forks, ND the daughter of Earl and Luella (Peterson) Lund.  Gloria enjoyed watching wrestling, Stitch, Paw Patrol and listening to Kenny and the Classics.  She delighted in shopping at 5 Below, Dollar Tree, and Penny's.  Most of all, she loved going to Perkins, where she was a staple, and of course being with her family and meeting many friends.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jon; a son, Benny Smith; her daughters, Debbie (Emery) Lamont, Marie Minner and Cindy (Ted Kittleson) Ross; a daughter-in-law, Shawnee McBride; grandchildren, Jason (Jessica) Erdman, Joey (Athena Flukey) Ross, Beth (Connor) Swenson, Tra (Lynnette) Minner, Liz Arnold, Zach (Annika) Smith, and Caleb Smith; great-grandchildren, Christian, Baylon, and Nolan Swenson, Maverick and Walter Erdman,, George and Oliver Minner, Percy and Sawyer Smith and brothers, Herb Lund and Duane Lund.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Elsie Hagen, and sons, Bobby Carter Smith and Richard Minner.

Gloria's family wish to thank HIA Hospice for the professional and compassionate care given to her and express their gratitude and appreciation to everyone for all the acts of kindness shown to Gloria and to them during this difficult time.

Memorial Service: 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Saturday.
