Gloria Jean Towers, age 85, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2026, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Gloria was born with her identical twin sister, Doris, on March 10, 1940 in Munich, North Dakota, to Albert and Katherine Dick. She was raised on the family farm outside of Munich ND.  In 1960, Gloria married Kenneth Towers in a double wedding alongside her twin sister Doris (Gene) Braathen.

Together, Gloria and Ken built a life grounded in Christ, family, and service, raising three children: Kimberly, Gail, and Brad.  As their family grew, so did their restaurant business, through which Gloria and Ken became well known in the Grand Forks community for their generosity, hospitality, and welcoming spirit.

Gloria was known for her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, her gentle kindness, her devotion to her family, and her joyful, youthful spirit. She found great delight in caring for others, especially through cooking traditional German Mennonite dishes and lovingly doting on her grandchildren.  A woman of prayer, Gloria faithfully lifted her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to the Lord each day. Those prayers do not end here. They live on through a love rooted in faith- one that continues to guide, protect, and strengthen those she held closest, until they are reunited again in Christ.

Gloria is survived by her identical twin sister, Doris Braathen (Gene), her sisters, Eileen Aafedt (Wayne), Bertha Sand (Ervin) and brother Albert Dick (Sandy).  Her children, Kimberly Hackenberg (Mike), Gail Burnham, and Bradley Towers (Gina); her grandchildren, Mandy Merritt (Chris), Megan Jack Hackenberg, Adam Hackenberg, Allison Hackenberg, Mikayla Meeks (Ben), Noah Burnham (Taylor), Matthew Burnham, Ethan Burnham, Michael Towers, Brandon Towers (Jael), Seth Towers (Taylor), Madison Towers, Kelsey Towers, and Thomas Towers. Nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom were cherished blessings in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Ken Towers, whom she now joins in eternal rest.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Edgewood Assisted Living and HIA Hospice for the compassionate, kind, and dignified care they provided for Gloria throughout her journey.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday.
Burial: Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
