Grace Bergman , 84, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND.

Grace Marie Bergman was born on December 11, 1941, in Langdon, ND, the daughter of William and Bertha (Michels) Schneider. She was raised in Wales, ND, and graduated from Wales High School in 1959.

Grace met the love of her life, Jerry, during high school, and the two were united in marriage on June 15, 1959, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Wales. They made their first home in East Grand Forks, MN, before settling in Grand Forks, where they worked and raised their four children—Dale, Doris, Douglas, and Daryl.

Grace was a homemaker for many years and then later worked at West Elementary School assisting with the lunch program. When the Ralph Engelstad Arena opened, Grace began working as a tour guide and usher, a role she truly enjoyed because it allowed her to visit with people and share stories with guests. She worked there for over 17 years.

A woman of strong faith, Grace was a longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks. She was an active member of the St. Michael's Alter Society for many years, as well as the Knights of Columbus Ladies Society.

Grace spent her spare time playing Bunco with friends, tending to her yard and flowers, and baking for the people she loved. She took great joy in sharing homemade treats as a way to connect with and care for others. Grace loved a good party and was always happiest when surrounded by people. She enjoyed hosting, visiting on the phone, and sharing stories and laughter. A glass of Wild Irish Rose was never far from the fun, and time spent together—talking, laughing, and connecting—meant everything to her. Above all else, Grace treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

She is survived by her children, Dale (Charlene) Bergman, of Grand Forks, Doris "Dee" (Paul) Otto of Grand Forks, Doug Bergman of Grand Forks, and Daryl Bergman of Gilbert, AZ; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harvey Schneider of Langdon, ND and Marvin Schneider of Fargo, ND; sister Brenda (Duane)Kovar of Grand Forks, ND.

She was preceded in death by Jerry, her beloved husband of 66 years, her parents, William and Bertha Schneider, her great-grandson, Benjamin Basting, and her sister-in-law, Sue Schneider.

Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 pm Thursday, January 8, 2026, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Gregory J. Normal Funeral Chapel. A prayer service and rosary are scheduled for 7:00pm.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.
Burial: I n the spring of 2026, at Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
