Grace Mary "Mom" (Honda) Kegler , 94, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Monday, December 23, 2024, at Edgewood Vista in East Grand Forks, MN.

Grace was born on May 28, 1930, in Grand Forks, ND to Ralph and Rose (Parkos) Honda.

She graduated from Park River High School and in 1963 from Aakers Business College in Grand Forks.

She married Gordon Kegler on September 25, 1947. They had five children together and were later divorced.

She became a civilian court reporter for the United States Air Force at the Grand Forks Air Force Base and held a Top-Secret security clearance. She served in this capacity for 28 years before retiring in 1992 at age 62.

She loved crocheting, embroidery, painting and was an avid bowler.

She especially loved animals and travels with her special friend Jack McCoy.

She lived in Grand Forks for many years in her home on the corner of Belmont Road and Lincoln Drive. The highlight of her many years there was on her 90th Birthday, when she waved for hours to the many people who honked to acknowledge the sign on her house.

"Mom" is survived by all her siblings, Mary Lou Trent, Colorado Springs, CO, Mildred Tatsak, Blaine, MN, Rose Hineman, Mary Esther, FL, and Ralph Honda, Grand Forks, ND.

She had three daughters, all living, Karen Hoffman, Brenda Rolland, and Julie Moen, all of Grand Forks, ND, and one daughter-in-law, Sandra Kegler of Crookston, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Roger and Daniel, a grandson, James Sweeney, a son-in-law, Dennis Sweeney, and her special friend, Jack McCoy.

She is survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to St. Anne's Guest Home or Circle of Friends Animal Shelter, both in Grand Forks.

Memorial Liturgy: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, with a 10:30 a.m. Rosary Service led by Dennis Almer of the Knights of Columbus, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Saturday.
Interment: In the spring, at Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
