Iva Jeanette Schaefer of Grand Forks, North Dakota, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the age of 90.

Iva Jeanette Frederikson was born April 3, 1933, to Marie (Hansen)and Hans Adolf Frederikson. Iva graduated Valedictorian from Petersburg High School in 1951. She attended Aaker's Business College and, after graduating, was employed at the North Dakota Mill and Elevator. Here she met her future husband, Raymond (Ray) F. Schaefer. They married on October 14,1955 and became parents of Gregg, Vicky, Jeffrey, and Todd.

Iva was known as a great cook and wonderful hostess to family, friends, and guests. We will always remember her for her famous pancakes on holidays.

Iva was an avid bowler. She enjoyed many tournaments including a trip to Nationals. In later years, Iva took up golf and enjoyed playing with her friends and family.   Iva and Ray wintered many years at their home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They frequently enjoyed golfing and entertaining family and friends.

Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, parents, and brothers, Adrien and Lloyd.

She is survived by her sons, Gregg (Susie), Jeffrey (Pam Beck), Todd (Jacquie) all of Grand Forks, North Dakota; a daughter, Vicky Lind, Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Chad (Emily), Reno, Nevada, Ryan, Fargo ND, Tyler (Marina), Nickolaus (Molly) and Lindsay Fugleberg (Casey) all of Grand Forks, ND; great grandchildren, Hayden, Halle, Ginnie, and Samuel .

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2023, in United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND.  324 Chestnut Street, Grand Forks, ND 58201
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the church on Thursday.
Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
