James "Jimmy" Jorgenson , 53, of Grand Forks, ND died Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Grand Forks, ND.

James Erwin Jorgenson was born April 13, 1971, on Travis Air Force Base in California to parents (retired) Air Force veteran, Robert J. Jorgenson and Elfi (Schuff) Jorgenson.   James was born with steel blue eyes and the whitest blonde hair you could imagine on a child. People always admired how cute he was as a baby. He was a very quiet kid who liked to keep his room neat and tidy.

During James childhood, the family was stationed at Wright Paterson Air Force Base in Ohio, Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, and Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota.   James enjoyed living in many different places and took great pride in being the son of a veteran.

James graduated from Central High School in 1990. After graduating, James continued to reside in Grand forks, living a quiet life. He frequented Mountain Brook often over the years, enjoying his time there greatly.   Many who knew James in his adult life know he was a kind and gentle soul. He loved animals, particularly his parent's Yorkie, Max. He had a special bond with animals. They could sense his calm and caring demeanor.

James lived a solitary life and mostly kept to himself.  He enjoyed a cold brew and sitting on his parent's deck on a sunny afternoon talking about life with his dad. He had a soft spot for his mom. They shared a special relationship. Both early risers, they enjoyed countless cups of coffee in the quiet before anyone else was up.

This is the James we choose to remember.

James is survived by his parents, Robert and Elfi Jorgenson; a sister, Tanja (Darrell) Ocana; nieces and nephews, Tianna (Cale) Bergeron, Robert (Megan) Copeland, Riley Copeland, Morghan (Holden) Nieukirk, Manuel Ocana, and Mataya Ocana; a brother-in-law, Edward Jorgenson, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Jorgenson.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Friday.
Interment: Memorial Park North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
