James "Jimmie" Lizakowski , 84, of Minto, ND passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at his home in rural Minto.

James Joseph Lizakowski, a son of Martin and Caroline (Gerszewski) Lizakowski and a nephew of Valerian and Cecelia (Briske) Lizakowski was born on July 21, 1941, on the family farm in Walshville township Warsaw, ND. He attended country school, growing up and living on his aunt and uncle's farm after his mother's passing.   Jimmie enjoyed being on the farm, especially outdoors, by himself, fully experiencing the wonders of nature.

Jimmie had a wide variety of interests, especially figuring out how mechanical and electronic things worked.  He was very talented with woodworking, building many of his own toys in his youth.  He was a very talented gardener, able to grow or raise anything with great success.  Jimmie led a simple life, leaving others alone, never speaking ill of anyone, always being positive and treating everyone with respect, simple lessons that continue.

He is survived by his sister, Rose (Richard) Hull-Saylor, Westminster, CO and godson, Frank Zolondek, Jr., Perham, MN as well as close friends and neighbors, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jimmie was preceded by his parents, aunt and uncle, sisters, Jean Valinski and Irene Zon, a brother, Henry Lizakowski, cousins, Sylvia Zolondek and Lorraine Kaatz.

Jimmies' family would like to thank everyone for their attendance, thoughts and prayers, any help or assistance given throughout and especially during this time of sorrow and loss.  In honoring his life, Jimmie would want all who attend his Funeral Mass to dress in casual and comfortable attire.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church Warsaw, ND, in memory of James J Lizakowski.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, ND.
Family Greeting : 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. Recitation of the Rosary in the church on Friday.
Interment: In the spring of 2026, in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Warsaw, ND.
