JAMES STEPHEN NOVAK

James Stephen Novak, age 70 of Warren, MN, died on Monday, May 2, 2022 at Sanford hospital in Fargo, ND.

James (Jim) Stephen Novak was born February 14, 1952, in Warren, MN, and resided in Tabor, MN for his entire life. He graduated from Warren High School in 1970, and began working at Al's Body Shop in Warren and farming in Tabor, where the family farm still operates today. Jim painted his first car at the age of 13, and completed his most recent project, a Peterbilt semi, with his son, Jacob, about 2 months ago. Jim was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Tabor, and made that the foundation of his life. He was also instrumental in the building of the Bohemian Hall.

Jim married the love of this life, Cheryl Anderson, on September 8, 1972, and they have been happily together nearly 50 years. Jim lived for his family. He loved traveling with his wife everywhere (most recently to South Dakota every other weekend). His favorite thing was having the whole family at the farm just hanging out, spending time with and SPOILING his grandkids (by buying them everything he never bought his kids even though they begged repeatedly), family breakfast after church every Sunday, pushing the family to read positive self-help books, and farming with his boys.

Jim leaves behind his wife, Cheryl, his daughters: Stacy (Scott) Polley, Susie (Mike) Boelter, and Rebecca (Greg) Lundin, his sons: Ryan (Kristina) Novak and Jacob (Karyn) Novak, his favorite grandchildren: Alex and Abby Novak, Megan and Kaitlin Polley, Taylor and Hannah Lundin, and Hailey, Logan, Jakub and Lukas Novak, his sister, Mary Novak, and his brother, John Novak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marie Novak, and his brother, Tom Novak.

Mass of the Christian Burial: Friday, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Tabor, MN.

Visitation with Prayer Service: Thursday, May 5, 2022, starting at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Church and  one hour visitation before the service on Friday all in the Church.

Burial: Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Tabor, MN.
