James W. Swehla , 83, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side on Monday, March 30, 2020 in the Transition Care Unit of Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks.

James William Swehla was born on May 26, 1936 at the family home in Conway, ND, the son of Bill and Angie (Votava) Swehla. On April 24, 1958, James married Sarah Jane Campbell. Together, they raised four children, Janelle (Rick) Cadreau, Mike (Roxann) Swehla, Lori (Mike) Sather, all of Grand Forks, ND and Jon Swehla of Grafton, ND.

James is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane; his children; 7 grandchildren, Jill, Mike Jr, Amanda, Justin, Shelby, Ava, Dane; 6 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sydney, Shayla, Skylar, Zachary, and Weston; sisters, Dolores (Nolan) Moeberis, Dalton, MN and Marilyn (Mrs. Bill) Erovick, Oregon; 2 sisters in law, Judy Schroeder and Faith Driscoll; a son-in-law, Richard (Barbara) Cadreau, Thompson, ND; along with nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Janelle Cadreau and brother-in-law, Bill Erovick.

Memorial Service: Will be held a later date.
Interment: Inkster Cemetery, Inkster, ND.
