Jane M. Gunther , 85, of Grand Forks, ND passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, in Altru Hospital surrounded by her loving daughters.

Jane was born January 24, 1940, in Grand Forks, ND, the youngest daughter of Marie (Kane) Logan and Thomas Patrick Logan. She was raised in East Grand Forks, MN where she attended Sacred Heart School. Following graduation in 1958, Jane attended a Catholic Nursing School in Crookston, MN and received her LPN degree.  She worked most of her career in the Ear, Nose, and Throat department at the GF Clinic.

Jane raised her three daughters, Laurie (Tom) Kuchera, Christy (Jerry) Areshenko, and Julie (Paul) Gilbertson on her own for fifteen years before meeting the love of her life, David Gunther and was blessed with two more daughters Kam (Herb Hill) Gunther, and Dani Gunther (deceased). The "sisters" Laurie, Christy, Julie and Kam are very close calling themselves The Fabulous Four.  The past two years have been very difficult but together, they support and love each other with incredible strength and grace.  The union of Jane and Dave (Mom and Pops) was a true blessing for the girls.

Raised in an Irish family, Jane enjoyed celebrating her Irish heritage and passed that on to her children and grandchildren. Jane's legacy will live on through the love and memories she created with family and friends.  She will always be remembered for her infectious laughter.

Jane is survived by her children Laurie, Christy, Julie, and Kam.  Six grandchildren; Annie (Massimo) Nardone, Jake (Abby) Areshenko, Logan (Ashley) Kuchera, Kenzie (Danny) Rudeen, Zach Gilbertson, and Delaney Gunther.  Nine (almost 10) great grandchildren; Vincenzo and Santino Nardone, Lucia and Mila Areshenko, Lou and Stella Rudeen, Banx, Gunner, Mack and new baby (due in September) Kuchera.

Jane lived a life full of love and laughter.  She enjoyed time at Roy Lake, Florida, and Mesa.  Basketball was very important to Dave and Jane, and she thoroughly enjoyed watching games, getting to know the players, traveling and having team dinners at their home.  While Jane enjoyed shopping, cooking, getting her nails done, and Happy Hours, her true love and passion were the times she and Pops could spend with "the girls" and their families.... the middles and the littles, aka: grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Grandma Jane and Papa were always ready to have fun with their families, playing games, telling jokes, and just trying to keep up with the "Middles and Littles".

Jane is preceded in death by her husband David and daughter Dani Gunther; parents Marie and Toby; siblings Patricia (Vince) Gorman, MaryAnn (Michael) Bushaw, and John Logan.

Special thank you to Dr. Michael Smith and Dr. Kathleen Gallagher for the amazing care given to our mother.  The incredible nursing and PT staff at Altru cared for our mother with love, compassion, and tenderness.  Thank you, Morgan, Gary, Maddie, Nick, Hery, Brady, and Alli.  Your gentle support, kindness, and compassion helped our entire family through an emotional and difficult time.

Memorial Service: 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Hope Church, 1601 17th Avenue South Grand Forks, ND 58201.
Family Greeting/Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the church on Saturday.
Interment: At a later date, in Memorial Park South Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
