Jeffrey "Jeff" Hansen, 75, of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at home after a hard fought battle with colon cancer.

Jeffrey David Hansen was born on August 19, 1944 in Broward County, Florida the son of Woodrow and Bette (Locklin) Hansen. He was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School. After graduation, he attended the University of North Dakota. Jeff returned to Florida for several years before coming home to Grand Forks. In his profession, as an auto and marine mechanic, he earned the Nissan Master Technician distinction. For several years, he owned and operated The Nippon Center Auto Repair, where he made many friends. In 1980, Jeff was united in marriage to Rachel Porter. He and Rachel and her two sons resided in Grand Forks. They also had two daughters.

In 1995, Jeff and Laurie Helmowski Wysocki were married. They continued to live in Grand Forks with several trips to his native Florida. Jeff was an avid space and aviation fan. He enjoyed playing pool, darts, family cookouts, camping and cat fishing on the Red River with his best buddy, Steve. Jeff was a very loving husband, proud father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Jeff is survived by his wife Laurie; daughters, Kristen (Kevin) Benson, Heidi (Chris) Boushey; stepsons, Sean Porter, Lance Porter; stepdaughters, Toni (Randy) Bosma and Rachel (John) Lawrence; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and his sister, Holly Hansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Stacy Hansen and a brother, Tim Hansen.

At the request of the deceased, there will be a private family service.
