JILL KUZNIA

Jillayne B. Kuznia, age 66 of Grand Forks, peacefully passed on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Elim Nursing Home in Fargo surrounded by family.

Jillayne B. Kuznia, a daughter of Donald and Caroll (Hartung) Bluhm, was born on May 5, 1957 in Wheaton, MN. The Bluhm family moved to Alexandria, MN in 1967 where Jill attended school and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1975. After graduation, Jill attended school at Moorhead Tech and married Dean Kuznia. They moved to Argyle, MN and later Crookston, MN where she worked for Crookston Public Schools. After their separation, Jill moved to Grand Forks and began working at Technology Applications Group as Office Manager. Her colleagues at TAG became a second family for Jill, and she greatly enjoyed her time until she retired in 2022 due to a cancer diagnosis.

When not at work, Jill was ever present in her grandchildren's lives.  She loved to shop and buy gifts for her grandkids, and she loved to plan and spend holidays with her family.  Jill was a strong independent woman that loved to fix and work on things herself.  Jill also loved crafting and creating things for others. In summer months, Jill enjoyed taking trips and spending time at Cass Lake with her longtime companion, Dana Siewert.  Jill also loved spending time with Dana in Grand Forks going to movies and out to eat (usually at Applebees or Red Lobster).  They also loved going to UND football, basketball, and hockey games, as well as riding bikes and going for walks on the Grand Forks greenway.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Mullally (Nate) of West Fargo and Christine Addis (Tom) of Broomfield, CO; her 8 beautiful grandchildren, Clare, Padraig, Cora, Anne, Marian, Ben, Liam, and Kieran.  She is also survived by her mother, Caroll Bluhm; her brother, Chuck Bluhm; and sister, Jackie DeZellar (Mike). Jill is preceded in death by her father, Donald.

A memorial service will be Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Grand Forks. Visitation will be one hour before service time followed by a reception at the funeral home.

A committal service will take place Sunday, September 17 at 1:00 pm at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria, MN.
