Joanne Marie (Mesheski) Stillman, 64 of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on October 15, 2023, at Altru Hospital after a long illness.

Joanne was born in Grand Forks, ND to Daniel and Mary Lou (Aamodt) Mesheski on June 20, 1959.  She grew up in East Grand Forks, MN, finishing high school in Fertile, MN.  Joanne then moved to Crookston, MN and later to Duluth, MN.  In 2001, she moved back to North Dakota where she spent her remaining 22 years in Grand Forks, ND.

Joanne was a meticulous housekeeper and worked at several places in Duluth and Grand Forks, including the Newman Center at the University of North Dakota.

Joanne loved to laugh and had such a sense of humor. She could make anyone forget their problems and worries, even if for a little bit.  She had many bird feeders on her little patio as she loved to watch them.  Couger and Lily were her constant feline companions.  They offered much comfort to her when she was confined to home.  Joanne also loved spending time with family.  It was extremely hard when she could no longer come out to the family farm as that was a place she loved dearly.  The best time was when all the family would get together for Christmas baking.

She will be remembered and missed dearly by all her family and friends.

Joanne is survived by her sons, Myles (Jessica Espinoza) Stillman, Grand Forks, ND, Bobby (Melissa) Rasmussen, Grand Rapids, MN and a daughter, Melissa Beidleman, Isanti, MN.  She is also survived by a brother, Jon (Shirley) Mesheski, Fargo, ND and a sister, Sandra (Cameron) Saure, Reynolds, ND.  Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Abigail and Shawn Rasmussen, and 1 great-grandchild, Remy Annray Vernig, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Mesheski, and her mother, Mary Lou, a daughter, Christina, a sister, Kathryn Dahl, a brother, Larry Mesheski, and all grandparents.

Joanne had requested no services, so the family only will be gathering at a later time to celebrate her life.
