John "Jack" B. Arnold , 88, died peacefully at his Green Valley, AZ. home surrounded by family on September 15, 2021.

Jack was born in Grand Forks, ND, on June 28, 1933, to William B. and Veronica (Bird) Arnold. He attended St. Michael's Elementary Catholic School and Grand Forks Central High School, graduating in 1952. He pursued a degree in the legal profession at the University of North Dakota.

Shortly after college, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Cadet. Following his stint as a Naval Cadet, Jack pursued work with the National Park Service as a Park Historian. He moved up the ranks with the Park Service, finishing his career as a National Park Superintendent. While with the Park Service, Jack restored the home of former President Franklin Delanor Roosevelt to historical accuracy.  Gettysburg, Fort Larnard, and the Indiana Sanddunes were a few of the parks Jack was employed at.

In 1965, Jack met and married Kathleen Jaworski. He did his best to fulfill the role of father to his stepchildren, Kevin, Chris, and Michelle Jaworski. In 1976, Kathleen unexpectedly died.

Jack thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family. He passed on a love for 'Winnie the Pooh' to several of his nieces and nephews. In his younger years he loved hiking and biking. He was a lover of baseball, especially when the Minnesota Twins were playing. He also enjoyed football. During the last fifteen years of his life, he looked forward to lengthy visits from his beloved sister, Margaret Spies.   Jack was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Green Valley, AZ.

Jack is survived by a sister, Margaret "Marg" Spies of Mayville, ND as well as his stepchildren, Kevin (Wendy) Jaworski of Las Vegas, NV; Chris (Janet) Jaworski, Bayville, NY and Michelle Aiello, Glen Head, NY; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Kathleen; parents; brothers, Bruce and Charles Arnold, and sister, Mary Ellen Turgi.

Mass of Christian Burial: will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Green Valley, AZ on Monday, September 27, 2021 at noon (Mountain Standard time) preceded by the rosary at 11:30 a.m. Father Maldonado will officiate the funeral Mass.
Interment 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Calvary North Cemetery in Grand Forks, ND.
Memorials :  Preferred to Green Valley Hospice Care as well as Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.
