John Frank Ouellette , age 85 of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at his home.

John Frank Ouellette, a son of Albert and Idamae (Lafferty) Ouellette, was born on October 6, 1939 at Walhalla, ND. He was reared and educated there. After his education he entered the US Army. John was stationed in Germany during the time Elvis was there. He was honorably discharged and returned to North Dakota. John then moved to California for a time. He returned to North Dakota settling in Grand Forks where he worked at grain companies for several years. Later he began a custodial company called Top Notch Cleaning. On July 2, 1982 he was married to Susan Rene. John worked at UND in the Custodial Department, helping out at the Ralph Engelstad Arena when needed. In 2002 John retired and has continued to make Grand Forks  his home.

He enjoyed playing BINGO, Cribbage, different card games, going to the casinos and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Tara (Scott) McConnell and Annette Ouellette; grandchildren, Alexis Nelson, Jade Nelson, Dylan Contreras, Marco Contreras and Emiliano Contreras; great-grandchildren, Nylah Gard, Cassian Gard and Elizabeth Contreras.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Idamae; brothers, Fred and Ole; sisters, Della Carlson, Lilly Wirtz and Darleen Carlson.

Memorial Liturgy: Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Norman Funeral Home in Grand Forks, ND.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Thursday.
Military Honors: Accorded members of the American Legion Post 157, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817 and the North Dakota Army National Guard.
Interment: The Hoople Cemetery in Hoople, ND, at later date.
