Jon "Jack" Stattine , 78, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019 in Grand Forks.

Jon "Jack" Charles Stattine was born in Minneapolis on October 24,1941; the first of three sons born to Signey Violet Johnson and John Helmer Stattine. Jack passed out of our arms into Jesus' on Sunday, December 1, 2019. Jack grew up in Minneapolis graduating from Minnehaha Academy and Dunwoody Technical College. He married Delores "Dee" Zondlo in 1962 and they made their homes in the Minneapolis area, Crookston, and then East Grand Forks.

Jack's family felt his love and commitment. He was a devoted and loving husband who supported Dee in everything she did. Jack was a natural born father to his three children, Cindy, Dianna, and Tony. His love for them radiated from the moment each one was born, to his last day. He was proud of his "Three Musketeers" for all of their life passions and accomplishments. Jack's heart was twice the size with all the love he had for his family and in 1990 his heart grew again when he became a grandparent for the first time. He had three grandchildren, Blakeley, Jace, and Jack who flocked to him constantly, seemingly "attached" to his leg at times. Jack shared many memories with his grandchildren, which were fondly remembered by all.

Jack's passions and talents were abundant and he shared them with all who knew him. His friends could always count on him during a time of need or simply for a good laugh. Jack enjoyed both boat and ice fishing, and always seemed to catch the first fish. He always had a book in hand as he read voraciously throughout his days. Jack's insatiable pursuit of knowledge left him surrounded by manuals and books. He had a resonating laugh that was impossibly contagious. Jack was a "maker" of all things – he helped with the design of the arched bridge in University Park, created many stained glass works of art from windows to wall hangings, and he was constantly restoring old cars and all other mechanicals. He was a member of the Nicollet Island Torquers, Cogs, and the MSRA. Any and all car shows far and wide, you could find Jack there befriending all around him.

Jack is survived by his spouse, Dee; children Cindy Stattine, Minneapolis, Dianna (David) Maszk, Grand Forks, and Tony Stattine, East Grand Forks; grandchildren, Blakeley (Nick) Kantor, Bismarck, Jace and Jack Maszk, both of Grand Forks; brothers Donald (Judith), Studio City, CA and Gregory (Kathleen), Edina, MN and brother-in-law, John (Karen) Zondlo, Pueblo, CO and many relatives and friends from all over - special friends in Canada.

A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held in April 2020.
