Joseph Gordon Bellmore, Sr. passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 in East Grand Forks, MN at the age of 91. Joseph was a husband, father of 7, grandfather to 14 and great-grandfather to 13.

Joseph was born at home in McCauleyville, MN, which is near Kent, MN. He was the 3rd oldest of 14 children born to William and Katherine (Neppel) Bellmore. He grew up in Kent, MN and graduated from Breckenridge High School. On November 23, 1949, Joseph married Esther E Wageman at St Michael's Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND. Following their marriage, they resided in Grand Forks and raised 7 children. Joseph worked several jobs over the years including farming, construction and as a boiler operator at St. Michael's Hospital. He was employed from 1961to1988 at Grand Forks Air Force Base in the Central Heating Plant and retired from there with 27 years of service.

In his younger years, Joseph enjoyed hunting and riding horses. He enjoyed riding his Artic Cat snowmobile with his family by Ben Franklin Elementary School. He also spent a lot of time ice-skating at the indoor and outdoor rinks in Grand Forks. He loved traveling and visiting historical places.

Joseph is survived by his family, which includes his children, Jeffrey (Carol) Bellmore of Puposky, MN, Randall (Ruth) Bellmore of Fargo, ND, Diana (Tim) Uggerud of Alexandria, MN, Maria (Jay) Vasichek of Michigan, ND and Joseph Jr. (Sherrie) Bellmore of Vacaville, CA; his brothers, Howard Bellmore, Leon (Tweety) Bellmore, Marvin (JoAnne) Bellmore, Ronald (Muriel) Bellmore, Gary (Faith) Bellmore, Allen (Mary) Bellmore and his sister, Diane (Wayne) Newhouse; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Bellmore; a daughter, Deborah Jo Minton and a son, Richard C. Bellmore. He was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Katherine Bellmore; brothers, Lyle and Benjamin Bellmore and sisters, Jeanette Leitch, Marlys Hennagir, Blanche Layland and JoAnne Estes. Joseph was a hard working person who lived his life his way. He is now at peace and has joined them in heaven.

Funeral Liturgy: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Friday.
Burial: In the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
