Joseph John "Joey" Haugen, 27, of Bloomington, MN, formerly of East Grand Forks, MN passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 of natural causes from an Upper Esophageal Gastro Hemorrhage, or black esophagus.

Our beloved blue-eyed son, Joseph John Haugen, "Joey" was born on October 26, 1993, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. He was the son of John and Camela Haugen. Joey was raised in East Grand Forks, MN. He attended and graduated from East Grand Forks High School. Joey was confirmed at Mendenhall Presbyterian Church of East Grand Forks, MN. At 17 years old, he became employed at Best Buy in Grand Forks, ND and worked retail stores in Springfield, VA and most recently at Best Buy of Eden Prairie, MN.

Joey was a dream come true when he was born. Joey loved spending quality time with friends and family. Joey "Joef" to his friends, had a strong bond with all of his friends. They always looked out for one another. Joey had a great love of the outdoors. He enjoyed bringing his friends to Pine Lake. He loved bike riding, swimming, and ATVing. He had a great love of music and technology, and his experience from his job-related skills made him very knowledgeable on many different digital devices.

He also loved working with his good friend and roommate, Brady Halverson on creating, producing, and editing movie film projects that they worked on. Joey loved to travel. He traveled to Florida for a 'Class of 2012' cruise. Most recently, he went on a trip of a lifetime to Norway.

Joey was a loving, caring, trusting person with no racial bias. He liked and respected all kinds of people with different ethnic backgrounds. Joey always had a funny comical take on many different situations, making everyone around him laugh in the moment. Joey was always inspirational and unforgettable to everyone that met him and knew him. He will greatly be missed. God Bless our blue-eyed son.

Joey is survived by his parents, John and Camela "Cammy" (Moffett) Haugen of East Grand Forks, MN, his girlfriend, Moe.Yuna of Tokyo, Japan, many aunts and uncles, cousins and close friends.

Joey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melford Haugen and Delores Juhnke, Lloyd and Marianne Moffett; an aunt, Jeanine Haugen; his cousin and childhood best friend, Joshua Keller, and his beloved pet dog, Max.

Celebration of Life: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
