JOSEPHINE BERGMAN

Josephine Bergman, age 92 of Grand Forks, died on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Fork.

Josephine Bergman was born March 26, 1929 the daughter of late John and Victiline Venne.  She grew up and attended school in Leyden, ND.  She married the late Clifford Bergman and they made their home and farmed in Mt. Carmel, ND.  Josephine was a devoted member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic church in Langdon, ND until she relocated to Grand Forks, ND in 2018.

To anyone that knew Josephine knew that she was a strong willed and caring woman. She found happiness spending time with her family and friends. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and raising her children. Josephine was blessed with eleven children but was considered "Mom" to many more.

She enjoyed traveling to Canada on warm summer days to go fishing with her family and stopping on the border for a quick game of Bingo.  She also enjoyed snowmobiling, card games, road trips and fun times at casinos.  After relocating to Grand Forks Josephine made many new friends.  She enjoyed time spent with them playing board games, cards, bingo and their dinners together.

One of her greatest delights was to teach her grandchildren all of her card games which they have carried on their own children.

Josephine will be greatly missed by so many in the community but most of all by her loving family. She was truly the heart and soul of the Bergman family.  She will always be remembered as our beloved Mother and "Grandma Jo".

Josephine leaves behind her children; Ronnie, Roger, Sally (Bob Guthrie), Sammie, Nicolette (Scott Winkler) Brian, Darla (Joe Moran), Vincent (Wendy Flowers), and Bradley (Julie), a sister Laura White, 18 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, a daughter Cindy; a son Cory; brothers John Venne Jr., Edward Venne, Wiblert Louis Venne and sisters Margaret Lafferty, Teola Saylor, Thelma Nelson, Irene Bartlette, Mary Bartlette and Elsie Skime

Memorial Service: Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 1;00 P.M. in the Historic Norman Funeral Home, Grand Forks.

Visitation: Thursday one hour prior to service time

Burial: LeRoy Cemetery at LeRoy, North Dakota.
