Justen L. Johnson, 30, of Grand Forks, ND passed away September 8, 2021, in Grand Forks.

Justen Lawrence Johnson was born January 4, 1991, in Grand Forks, ND the son of Jay and Jane (Gerszewski) Johnson.  He was raised in Grand Forks and graduated from Grand Forks Central High School.  Justen had many interests and hobbies.  He enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, riding bike, fishing, playing frisbee golf and playing pool.  One of his favorite pastimes was playing video games with his nephew, Evan and watching him skateboard.  Justen loved animals, especially his pet iguana.  He loved going to the dog park with his family's dogs.

In the fall of 2020, Justen and his girlfriend, Jenn moved to Nevada to get a new start on life.  They were very happy living there.  Unfortunately, on March 8, 2021, Justen was found unresponsive.  He was being flown to be a organ donor, when by the grace of God, the EMT looked into Justen's eyes and he became a patient again.  We rushed to his side and each day we received one miracle after another.   Soon, we were able to bring him home.  He was in extreme pain with every step he took.  He tried so hard.  We were blessed with six more precious months with him.  Thank you to everyone who prayed for us.

He is survived by his parents, Jay and Jane; older brother, Jaden Johnson; maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Elaine Gerszewski and paternal grandmother, Bonnie Winkka; nephew, Evan Johnson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jakob Leonel Johnson; parental grandfather, Darwin Earl Johnson and cousin, Sean Gerszewski.

Memorial Liturgy: 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Saturday.
