Katarina Alice Louthain came into this world a ball of sunshine on Sept. 7th, 2017 to the proud parents Robert and Nicole Louthain, not to be confused with Katarina's "Gigi" Nicole Louthain!

Katarina (Kat) had a variety of interests and was serious about them.

She performed Gymnastics and Taekwondo for several years.

After attending a concert 2 years ago and seeing that the drummer was a female with purple hair, Kat wanted to dye her hair purple and learn to play the drums. Both of those things happened! Kat realized then that Women could do anything!

Kat was able to collect a jar full of seashells on a recent trip to Florida, she was very proud of them.

This Summer Kat was going to a 2-month Softball camp, she was ready to go; with all of her equipment being pink!

When Kat was asked her favorite color, the response was always different. She loved all the colors. It was fitting that on the day after her passing there was a double rainbow over the Base. "Kats Rainbow".

Robert and Nicole gave Kat a free reign for her to dress herself; Kat developed her very own unique sense of style. On "Purple" day at school, Kat didn't wear purple she went the other direction, she dressed in a very Taylor Swift outfit and walked confidently into school.

Kats other creative side included drawing, there are various pictures in the hallway outside of her bedroom.

She loved reading as much as she loved being read to.

Kat left her family and friends on June 5th, 2024. There is not a doubt that she will be greatly missed, forever loved and always remembered for being a ray of sunshine.

A Celebration of Life for Kat will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the 319 Security Force Squadron at the Grand Forks Air Force Base.
