Kathryn Dusso passed away peacefully Sunday Morning, October 2 ^nd at Valley Elder Care in Grand Forks, ND. She was surrounded by her family.

Kathryn Marie Dollenbacher (Cassie) was born on January 30, 1939, in Huron, SD. Her parents Sonny "AF" and Lillian "Red" Dollenbacher resided in Cavour, SD.

Cassie was raised and attended school in Cavour, graduating from Cavour High School in 1956.

While visiting friends in the Black Hills, Cassie met Robert Dusso and a friendship began. After some correspondence, visiting each other's families, and time spent together, they were engaged. Robert, while serving in the Air Force, was transferred to Germany in 1960, and Cassie followed shortly after. They were married on July 27, 1960, in Miesaw, Germany.

Cassie and Robert had four children; Robert Albert, Nanci Mae, James Edward, and Michael Dale Dusso. The Dusso family lived all around the world during Robert's Air Force Career.

Cassie's main purpose in life was to take care of her children. She often said, "it is a poor hen that doesn't take care of her chicks". Cassie, while always the rock of the family, had compassion for all she knew, as her house was often the gathering spot for all the neighborhood children.

After her husband and children, the next great joy in her life was all her grandchildren. In total there were nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Preceding Cassie in death is her husband Robert, who passed away in 2012; brothers: Dale Albert Dollenbacher; Francis (Gus) Dollenbacher; and Sister Betty Lather.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
