Kayla O'Shaughnessy, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away at age 34 on May 3, 2023, in Kona, Hawaii.

Kayla O'Shaughnessy, the daughter of Shawn and Julie (Dorsher) O'Shaughnessy, was born on May 30, 1988, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She grew up in Aurora, Colorado and graduated from Eaglecrest High School.  Kayla had an adventurous soul and moved to Kona, Hawaii with a single suitcase in 2011. She loved the beauty and the people of Hawaii and spent a lot of her time at the beach, snorkeling, on hikes, and with friends and is where she met and married her husband, Stan Szerlip.

Kayla had a heart filled with love and an unwavering zest for life. Kayla's radiant personality and kind spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.

Although she may no longer be physically present, Kayla's memory will live on, inspiring all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and joy, reminding us to cherish every moment and to embrace life with open arms.

Kayla O'Shaughnessy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her husband, Stan Szerlip; her parents, Shawn and Julie (Dorsher) O'Shaughnessy; her sister, Callie Branan; her grandparents, Bob and Sheila O' Shaughnessy; best friend, Amanda Martell and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harold and Patricia Dorsher.

Memorial Liturgy: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the funeral home on Saturday.
I nterment: Garden of the Evangelist's Columbarium, Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
