LaRae Ann Stauss, age 79, of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on August 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on April 4, 1947 in Grand Forks to Albert and Ethel Stauss, LaRae lived a life filled with devotion to her faith, family, friends, her community, and the many sports teams she cheered for with unmatched enthusiasm.

She was a beloved sister to Dale (Cheryl) Stauss, Dan Stauss, and Paula (Jim) Mandel, and a cherished aunt to thirteen nieces and nephews, and thirty-two great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Larry, Lynn, and Tony Stauss.

LaRae was a lifelong sports fan, faithfully supporting the East Grand Forks Green Wave, Minnesota Vikings, Wild, Lynx, and Timberwolves, as well as the North Dakota Fighting Sioux. Her greatest joy, however, came from attending thousands of school events, games, concerts, and performances for her nieces and nephews. Her presence in the stands and audiences was constant, encouraging, and deeply felt.

LaRae treasured time at the family cabin on Grace Lake, where she found peace, laughter, and connection. Another large part of her life was  maintaining many friendships across decades and she kept in touch with many of them until her passing.

Her career began in education as a teacher and later expanded into business roles with Century Properties, Grand Casinos, Inc., Return, Inc., and Multiband Corporation. She was known for her reliability, warmth, and dedication in every role she held.

LaRae spent most of her life in East Grand Forks, with about twenty -five years in the Greater Minneapolis area, but her heart always remained close to home.

Her legacy is one of steadfast love, spirited fandom, patriotic pride, and wholehearted involvement in the lives of her family and friends. She will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude.

The family would like to thank Lena Beaudoin for helping care for LaRae during the last few years as her health and mobility became challenging.  Her caring friendship is appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Our Savor's Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks, MN.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the church on Wednesday.
Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks, MN.
