Laurie Kathleen Saxon , 53, of Grand Forks, ND passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Altru Hospital due to complications of COVID-19.

Laurie Kathleen Saxon was born on October 24, 1968, in Manchester, NH the daughter of William and Jacqueline (Swormsteadt) Saxon. She grew up in Beachmont, NH and Nashua, NH however, her favorite place was Lynn, MA. After some moving Laurie claimed Grand Forks, ND as her home and remained there.

Laurie enjoyed reading, knitting, puzzles, watching old movies, finding good yard and garage sales, and searching for hidden treasures at thrift stores and bookstores. Laurie had various collections of nutcrackers and anything that was blue, be it dishes, glassware or her Christmas Tree. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She took great pride in decorating her home and the Christmas tree with her children every year. Every Christmas Eve Laurie and the children had a tradition of releasing a birthday balloon for Jesus, feeding Santa and his reindeer. They also had a tradition and of driving through Christmas in the Park every Christmas Eve.

She is survived by her mother Jacqueline Dougharty, her daughter Jacqueline Saxon, sons Shane Saxon and Colton Saxon-Peterka, brothers T.J. (Tracy Tran) Saxon, Arthur and Ben Clancy, Timothy and Crista Peterka and family, her granddaughter Everly, niece Kaylee Saxon, nephew Benjamin Saxon and Cousin Greg.

Laurie's greatest source of pride and joy was spending time with her children and her family making as many memories as she could. She wasn't only a daughter, a sister, or a mother she was everyone's best friend. She had a heart full of love, a smile for everyone she passed, and arms always open for a hug. This is how we will remember her, with love.

She was preceded in death by her father William Saxon, niece Kristi Saxon and Joseph "Grampa Joe" Peterka.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Saturday.
