Lenore Gorman Braden , 93, from East Grand Forks entered heavenly rest on March 20, 2021. She was one of 11 children of Matilda and Sydney Bateman. Some of Lenore's favorite memories growing up were designing her own clothes which her mama sewed for her, dancing, and having close relationships with her 8 sisters and 2 brothers.  Art was Lenore's favorite subject at EGF Central School. After graduation, she went to work as an operator at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Grand Forks and was later promoted to Group Chief.

Lenore married Jack Gorman from EFG, was widowed and made a home for her mother and her 3 children: Terry Kay, Jacqueline and Tom. One of her accomplishments was that of building a house for her family. Lenore enjoyed playing cards, fishing and could most often be found quietly reading.

Lenore liked the warmth and the sunshine of the Southwest.  She lived in Nevada for a few years and later enjoyed taking winter breaks in Arizona. Age had few limits for her. She tried downhill skiing when she was in her 60s and married again in her 70s. She was gracious, generous, kind, strong willed, and overcame her life's tragedies through faith. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish for many years.

In 2000, she married Dalton Braden and moved to Grand Rapids, MN. Lenore and Dal enjoyed dancing and ice fishing. When Dal passed away in April, 2017, Lenore moved to Good Samaritan - Heritage Pines in EGF.  She frequently said that she loved her apartment and the staff at the Pines.

Lenore is survived by her daughters Terry Kay (Don) Janes and Jacqueline (Stephen) Thomas, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her sister, Yvonne (Don) Printz. Lenore's family is grateful for the loving care that she received at the Good Samaritan Pines and the support and comfort care that she received from Red River Valley Hospice.

Funeral Mass : 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks, MN.
Family Greeting : One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Wednesday.
